Clinical Supervision

Professional support for speech and language therapists is offered by Christella Antoni for both standard voice caseloads and transgender voice therapy. The frequency of sessions is determined individually with each therapist according to their clinical needs and the requirements of their service. Clinical supervision benefits current and future practice and is an investment towards gaining advanced clinical practice skills. For most SLTs, it is the most direct way of continually enhancing their practice.

Christella's Experience

Christella has over 20 years experience of extensive NHS and private practice working. Beginning in 1996 in the NHS, she acquired experience with a wide range of clients both in community, ward-based and out-patient settings.

Her jobs within the NHS include Lead Clinician for Voice at Charing Cross Hospital (2000-2013) and Lead Clinician for Transgender Voice at the London Gender Identity Clinic (2001-2014). Since 2002, 500 + SLTs have attended her training courses in both Voice & Transgender & Gender Diverse voice.

In 2016, Christella returned to Charing Cross Hospital as a band 8 Consultant SLT specialist NHS post within the ENT dept, working with Mr Guri Sandhu in the joint Voice Clinic on alternate Tuesdays. She supervises SLTs who work within the NHS and/or private practice.

Since 1999, Christella’s private practice has continued to expand. She has directly trained and supervised both NHS SLTs now in NHS Lead Clinician Gender Identity Clinic roles and all the associate SLTs who work within her private practice currently.

Pre-Session Information & What to Expect

Clinical cases may be brought to the supervision session and an outline of these and other requirements may be sent in advance.

  • Select the appropriate supervision time you feel you require. As a guide, for clinical discussion of cases consider the level of guidance, support and advice that you require . If you have more than 3 cases and/ or issues to discuss, supervision sessions of at least 40 mins are recommended.
  • Before your appointment, please send an outline of the points you would like to discuss e.g 1. caseload management advice; . 2. Discussion of 2 cases
